If your summer has been dominated by USA shows, you're likely going into a bit of a mourning period right now. White Collar and Covert Affairs have already ended their summer runs, and Burn Notice, Suits and the rest will soon follow along into hiatus oblivion.
But don't get too upset -- USA has already announced the dates for some of the shows to return in the fall. Covert Affairs, Burn Notice and Psych will all air new episodes in 2011.
Psych, which has been long-absent from our televisions, is the first USA show to return this fall. The sixth season of the show will debut on Wednesday, October 12 at 10pm.
Along with the show's standard crime-fighting antics, this season will feature an impressive list of guest stars, especially for those viewers obsessed with '80s and '90s nostalgia. Among those appearing are Kristy Swanson, Corey Feldman, Malcolm McDowell, Joey McIntyre, Molly Ringwald, Danny Glover and Wade Boggs. This is, of course, in addition to one William Shatner, who will be on hand to play Juliet's father.
Covert Affairs is the next USA show to return.
The second half of the show's second season will debut on Tuesday, November 1 at 10pm. Presumably, Covert Affairs will pick up with the characters where we last saw them. Thus, we can expect Annie to be dealing with the angst of moving and a newly-disapproving sister, Jai to be pondering his career path, and Auggie to be chasing after lots of off-screen women (as usual).
The final fall return on USA is Burn Notice, which will finish up its fifth season starting on Thursday, November 3 at 10pm. Although the show has not yet ended its summer run (new episodes will air until September 8), the standard cliffhanger nature of Burn Notice finales will make its close return a bonus.
Those viewers holding out for more episodes of White Collar, unfortunately, have a bit more of a wait before the show returns.
TVLine reports that new episodes are not expected before January 2012. The scary fate of Elizabeth Burke -- and the even more important fate of the Peter-Neal relationship -- will have to wait until then for resolution.
Although there is no official word yet on their return, newer programs like Suits will likely not return until next summer.
