Delhi has no money for METRO

Delhi has no money for METRO : Because of heavy spending cash on Commonwealth games, Delhi Government is not in position to provide necessary fund for the third phase of METRO.

Delhi Finance Minister Mr. A.K.Valia said that instead of Delhi Government, Delhi Development Authority should provide finance for the METRO network. Walia told reporters, “We wrote a letter to Delhi Development Authority to provide fund for expansion of third phase of the METRO network. They will make profit from city land sales & development. They should make financial partnership for expansion of METRO.

It is noted that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has planned to start to construction by the end of 2010. In the third phase Jahangirpuri to Saray Kale Khan ISBT, Dilshad Garden to Gaziyabad ISBT, Airport link to Shushant Lok (Gurgaon), Mundka to Delhi Border – Bahadurghadh, Badarpur to YMCA Chowk & Gurgaon adding motion.
