Violence Darjeeling, West Bengal government to deploy military effort

violenceKolkata/Darjeeling: West Bengal government has requested the Centre for deployment of the Army Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal after two people were killed when police fired to disperse a crowd of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), the protesters violated the prohibitory orders.

Ministry of Defence, however, still respond to the request of the State Government.

Police claim that they Janmukti Gorkha Morcha, which had blocked roads after supporters opened fire, stabbed a woman constable. The first with a lathi charge and tear gas to disperse the crowd had tried but failed.
