Royal Visit: William And Kate To Arrive At LAX Friday Afternoon

After weeks of anticipation, Prince William and his wife Catherine - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - is scheduled scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon to begin a whirlwind weekend tour of Southern California.

Newylweds arrives at Los Angeles International Airport late in the afternoon, where they were welcomed by California Governor Jerry Brown and his wife, Anne Gust Brown, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the British ambassador to the United States, Sir Nigel Sheinwald.

After the arrival of the young royal will go directly to support the British trade and investment conference, where they will hear a presentation and technologists to meet delegates from the event.

Later Friday evening reception in honor of William and Catherine at the Hancock Park residence of the British Consul-General, Dame Barbara Hay. Many of California's political leaders will participate, as well as other public figures.
